Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Philadelphia was America's first great city — and its map still carries the bones of William Penn's original grid. The Delaware River to the east, the Schuylkill to the west, and a street layout so logical that it became the template for cities across the continent.
This laser-cut mini map captures Philadelphia's geography: the two rivers that bound it, the grid that Penn laid out in 1682, and the neighborhoods that have grown up around it across three centuries of American history. Cut from two layers of hand-sanded Baltic birch plywood with a vibrant blue painted base, it's a piece worthy of the city that started it all.
For the Philadelphian, the history lover, and everyone who knows that this city doesn't get nearly enough credit. Need a larger size or a framed version? We make these by hand — reach out before ordering.
